What is annual giving?
Annual giving can be described as making a gift to Lehigh during the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30), year after year. Annual gifts can be made to the Lehigh Fund in support of the university's highest priorities, or be designated to an area of your passion, which may include investing in students, world-class faculty, or the best facilities possible.

If I give online, is my information secure?
Yes. Our online giving site is completely secure and all your information is kept private and safe.

Why is my annual gift important?
Your gifts support the students and professors who will keep Lehigh University among the nation’s premier research universities for decades to come. Through your generosity, Lehigh’s impact can be felt around the world: through research that uncovers new knowledge, through students and alumni who become leaders in their professions and communities, and through programs that tackle grand challenges in every continent of the globe.

Whether you make an annual gift to the Lehigh Fund, a contribution to one of Lehigh's capital projects, or a donation designated to a particular college or program, your generosity has immediate impact on the university. Gifts of current operating support give the university the resources to be able to respond to the latest opportunities and priorities, making Lehigh agile and competitive.

Can I designate what my funds will support?
If you're giving online, just select the designation(s) that you'd like. If you're giving over the phone or via a check, just be sure to be specific about the program, school or fund you wish to support.

How many consecutive years have I given?
Consecutive gifts – no matter the size – are crucial to the success of Lehigh. You provide a powerful foundation that supports critical aspects of the student experience. To learn more about the South Mountain Society and consecutive giving, contact the Lehigh Fund at lehighfund@lehigh.edu.

What is the South Mountain Society?
To recognize Lehigh’s committed annual donors and encourage others to follow their example, Lehigh established a new consecutive giving society. Anyone who has made a gift for two consecutive years will be automatically enrolled as a charter member. To begin or sustain your membership and reach new milestones, make your gift every year. For more information, visit the South Mountain page.

What is the Asa Packer Society?
The Asa Packer Society is your opportunity to immediately impact the university’s vision, generously support students who may otherwise not be able to attend, and participate in an exclusive and influential group of alumni and friends. Learn more about Asa Packer Society or email us.

What is the Lehigh Fund?
Each and every gift to the Lehigh Fund makes a difference, no matter what the size. Your annual gift to the Lehigh Fund helps provide an essential bridge between endowment and tuition revenue and the university’s operating budget.

Alumni gifts also count toward Lehigh’s participation rates, which are used by evaluators such as U.S. News and World Report to determine the university’s rankings. An annual gift is an ongoing “vote of support” for Lehigh and the value of your degree.

How do I know if my company will match my gift?
Easy.   If you want to check now, enter your company in our matching gift look-up or check with your employer.  You can also search for your employer during the online giving process.

Do company matching gifts count toward donor recognition?
Yes. For example, your gift of $500 matched with $500 from your company affords you recognition at the $1,000 level, the Asa Packer Society.

How do I make a stock gift?
If you would like to donate securities to Lehigh University, please visit the Financial Services Non-Cash Gift Donations page for more information, or complete the submission form.

How much should I give?
Give what you can. Every gift really does make an impact for students. The important thing is that you give every year.

I'd like to establish a scholarship. What do I do?
A gift of $10,000 or more to current use financial aid and scholarship is considered an Asa Packer Society Scholarship. You can also create an endowed scholarship that will benefit Lehigh students forever. Learn more on our scholarship webpage or contact us at plannedgiving@lehigh.edu to learn more

What is Lehigh’s fiscal year? Why is it important?
Lehigh’s fiscal year, that is, our accounting year, runs from July 1 – June 30. We ask for and count gifts during this time frame.

What is the endowment?
When you contribute to the endowment, you strengthen the permanent capital of Lehigh. Your gift supports an enduring legacy that will benefit students and faculty in perpetuity. Thanks to increasingly generous philanthropy and strategic, prudent investments, Lehigh’s endowment has grown dramatically over the past decade. Even in difficult economic times, endowed gifts strengthen Lehigh in several ways: scholarships, chairs and professorships, facilities. Endowment represents an investment in the university’s future as well as a personal legacy, as it can be made in the name of an individual, relative, or even a special faculty member. Contact us to learn more.

How can I recognize Lehigh in my will?
For more information, please email plannedgiving@lehigh.edu or call (610) 758-4749.

Can I spread my gift out over multiple payments?
Yes. On our online giving form, you have the opportunity to spread out your payment securely via credit card. For example, spreading your $1,000 gift over 10, $100 payments.

I lost my gift confirmation email. What do I do?

What happens when I make a gift in honor or memory of someone?
