Dear Lehigh Staff and Faculty,

We’re writing to inform you of new options and incentives related to campus parking and transportation that could impact your selection of a parking permit option.

In recent months, Lehigh has worked to identify additional commuter parking alternatives to provide more cost-effective parking options for the campus community. Effective July 1, the following are two additional parking lots now available at no cost to Lehigh faculty and staff:

The Founders Way Commuter Lot will be served by the Founders Way Express, which will service the Commuter Lot and the Whitaker bus stop (Webster Street & Packer Avenue) every 10 minutes from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday (more detailed information to follow). The Goodman Commuter Lot will be served by the Campus Connector (route and schedule) from the Rust Family Pavilion.

In an effort to encourage alternative transportation solutions, Lehigh is also offering the following incentives for faculty and staff who choose to utilize these commuter lot parking and transportation options. Over a time frame of one year, the options listed below are offered to faculty and staff:

  • Four (4) free Daily Visitor Passes (one-day permits valid in assigned Asa Packer or Mountaintop campuses)
  • $10 Passport Wallet credit to use at meters or pay by space at either Zoellner or Mountaintop
  • Four (4) meal passes to Asa Packer dining room, Rathbone Hall or Cort dining room

  • Free membership to Enterprise CarShare (detailed information will be provided when permit is issued)

If an Athletics event or Sands/SteelStacks event such as Musikfest is expected to impact the availability of parking spaces at the Commuter Lots, Parking Services will notify Commuter Lot users in advance and provide an alternate parking location for those affected days.

Please feel free to direct questions to inpark@lehigh.edu. Once again, we want to thank you for your patience as we continue our transition to a car-free, more walkable, environmentally sustainable and connected campus community.

Sincerely,

Mark Ironside, Executive Director of University Business Services
